Batman Arkham Knight Man Bat Location and How to Defeat Him
Tracking down the flying terror known as Man-Bat is one of the most memorable side quests in Batman: Arkham Knight. Known officially as the Creature of the Night Most Wanted mission, this quest requires players to locate Dr. Kirk Langstrom across Gotham City's skyline. Mastering this encounter demands sharp observation and precise gliding technique rather than traditional melee combat.
Unlocking the Creature of the Night Mission
The quest begins unexpectedly while exploring Miagani Island early in the main story campaign. Players usually trigger the first encounter when grappling onto a tall building, causing Man-Bat to shriek and fly into the night sky. This initial interaction automatically adds the Most Wanted mission to your logbook and starts the hunt.
To locate the creature during this initial phase, switch on Detective Vision and scan the skies while listening for screeching sounds. Man-Bat appears in Detective Vision as a distinct red silhouette gliding in circular patterns above the city streets. Perch on a high vantage point to carefully observe his flight route before making your move.
How to Catch and Defeat Man-Bat
Defeating Man-Bat does not involve standard hand-to-hand fighting or Batmobile artillery. Instead, players must dive-bomb from a higher rooftop or crane to align their glide trajectory directly above him. Once you make physical contact in mid-air, a quick-time sequence triggers where Batman tackles the beast to retrieve a blood sample.
After securing the sample, head to Dr. Langstrom's laboratory hidden on Bleake Island to formulate an antidote. You will need to complete a DNA sequencing puzzle on the lab computer by aligning the clean strands. Once the initial cure formula is ready, you can track down the creature for the remaining encounters.
Tracking Subsequent Encounter Locations
The second encounter takes place over Bleake Island after completing the Stagg Airships story mission. Use the same aerial dive strategy to tackle him and administer the first dose of the synthesized cure. Although the creature breaks free again, this second dose significantly weakens his airborne resistance.
The third and final encounter becomes available on Founders' Island following the main narrative events at Panessa Studios. Locate his flight path around Ryker Heights, perform one last mid-air tackle, and inject the full cure. Batman will then automatically place Dr. Langstrom into the Batmobile to transport him safely to the GCPD isolation cell.
